On Saturday, August 18, more than 230 volunteers participated in St. Louis Cares’ third annual Servathon event to help spruce up Beaumont High School, Farragut School, Henry School and Des Peres School.

Nearly 100 fans of Guiding Light joined cast members Murray Bartlett, Mandy Bruno and St. Louis native Gina Tognoni to paint indoors and outdoors, plant flowers and create a blacktop playground at Des Peres School.

After the projects, everyone traveled to A. G. Edwards for a “Come As You Are” lunch celebration to reflect on the day and celebrate how we all strengthened the community together.

A very special thank you to Servathon co-chairs David Brown, Meg Brown, and Chris Torbit and to steering committee members Stacey Beatty, Sada Garcia, Sandra Hill, Tim McLaren, Kevin McDevitt, Deb Niemeyer and Becky Ojile for their leadership and support for making this year’s St. Louis Cares Servathon the best one yet.

We also salute our 2007 Servathon Silver sponsors A.G. Edwards; McEagle Properties; and Paric Corporation and Bronze sponsors Datotel; Stone, Leyton & Gershman; M2; and Saint Louis Bread Company. The event raised more than $15,000 to support the United Way’s St. Louis Cares program. Thanks for “Helping St. Louis Get Back to School!”
